The Avalanche team is working on improving the contract to make it more effective. The objective is to make the platform faster, cheaper, and user-friendly for the developers. These are key things that most developers will be looking for in 2022 hence making Avalanche a popular choice.
Now if you are asking why does this matter? Well because if you are interested in only pumping coins that's what's gonna be available in the market more and more going forward, on the flip side if you are invested in the technology and how far this platform can lead the future, you tend to invest in more tokens with utility and projects that are aiming for more blockchain adoption in day to day life.
